Graduate Fashion Week: Creative Noise 2016

Graduate Fashion Week: Creative Noise 2016

On Tuesday 7th June, I attended the Ravensbourne Graduate Fashion Show at The Old Truman Brewery.

The catwalk show was absolutely amazing!

My favourites were the menwears collection and most of the female collections.

The show was upbeat and creativity was flowing down the catwalk. All the collections covered everyone’s style of interest and packed a variety of new ideas to express fashion.

The exhibition itself was incredibly well put together, with each university creating an environment that made their students stand out and thrive. The exhibition it self was situated across the ground & first floor, and not only were university shown, businesses were present hiring graduates to join ASOS, New Look and many more….

It was a great experience to go and see what it was all like, because in the next few years I’ll be graduating. ‘Hopefully!’

Summer Reads !

Summer Reads !

So summer is finally here and I have finished my first year of university. Even though my summer will be packed up with a varity of events. One of the things I like to do is enjoy some of my favourites books, and relax . So listed are a few favourites picked of the bookself to share with you all 🙂

So the Divergant series has finally been put into a movie sequel, it needed to be, the books are amazing. If you cant wait that long to find out what happens then the books are worth a read !

If you enjoy the Hunger Games and the Divergant series then you will love the series by Marie Lu.

The first book of the series is called Legend, which is about two different lives that meet by chance and know nothing about each other. However, one character killed the other persons brother, and that person is out for revenge.

Night Owls by Jenn Bennett, is a really cute and amazing summer read. Its got humor, romance and is a unique moving novel.

The book is about a girl called Beatrix meeting a charming and wildy attractive boy named Jack on the night bus. Her world gets turned upside down as she and Jack learn more about each other.

Beautiful Disaster By Jamie McQuire, is a must have read, its got it all, from the good girl and bad boy and a imminent disaster. It one of my favourites books, and the rest of the series is just as good ! Its one I read all the time because it’s timeless and addictive.

There are lots of new and exciting books coming out this summer for intance the new Games of Thrones book which I’ll be getting my hands on. At the moment I’m currently reading the the stylist so I’ll update you with a review once I have finished it.

If you like the Games of Thrones series then Prince of Thorns is a must read

If any one has come across any good ones I haven’t heard of before, I’d be more than grateful for comments and I’ll give them a read.

Have a great summer !

Festival Guide

Festival Guide

Its coming up to that time again, where its ultimate festival season. Coachella has been and gone, and now its time for the rest of Britain’s favourite festival line ups.

At Reading Festival, Green camp is the best. Its close to the main arena entrance !

I am huge festival and gig person, but I have learnt some useful tips whilst going. Personally I have seen behind the scenes, and it’s not all rainbows.

So I have created a basic list to help you survive your festival weekend ?

Living life on a found broken chair ! So take one, mine didn’t last a day !

You don’t need to pack as much as you think, pack light you only have to carry it around.

Clothing needed:

The majority of the trend at every festival is wearing shorts, flowers in your hair, bandanas, flowing cardigans, prints and flowery clothing. And why they hell not everyone has there own style !

My personal style is shorts, a couple of loose t-shirts, cool shades and most definitely wellies!

But make them bright and colourful! Because you can spot anyone out of a crowd then !

Also bring hoodies or a warm coat cause it gets cold in the evening, even though bonfires are sometimes allowed it still gets cold.

It’s summer after all, get the cool shades out !

I found taking snack foods and then having a decent meal a day from one the eating places, however they are expensive. But find where the nearest supermarket is and do a trip of getting drinks and food. It will be busy but is saves you having to bring it all.

Finding the best place to set up camp. Ask people who have gone before, they will know the best places to go, otherwise just wing it !

Water bottles your’ll need them, because no glass is allowed inside the camp. It gets hot in the arena and your usually allowed to take empty water bottles inside, were you can fill them up !

It’s always busy ..

Every person’s worst nightmare are the toilets ! They are not your friends, but I have learnt some tricks such as take toilet roll, hand sanitizer, toilet seat covers and try to use the arena ones because they will seem like luxury !

Items needed:

Camping cups, tent, warm sleeping bag, a mat to make the ground comfortable, platers, a chair or a ground sheet. This is because you can’t trust the weather and no one wants to sit in the mud !

IMG_4418
Get a programme then you won’t miss anything !

I find that you don’t usually want to take anything expensive, or all your’ll do is worry about it. So take things that you can think “If I lost this ! will I actually be upset.”

So for example everyone wants to document the event, I prefer to take compact cameras its more fun and they can be replaced !

You can take your iPhone there are charging stations, but I prefer to go old school and take a Nokia brick phone. Or go really crazy and take the camera flip phone !

IMG_4421
Get involved in the middle of the crowd, for me its where the most fun is.

This is most of what I can think of, but if anyone has a questions I’ll be happy to answer !

If not enjoy your summer and stay safe 😀

Have fun on your festivials journey becasue lets face it they’re just to much fun……
