Hard Rock Movie Night

On Monday the 25th April, Hard Rock held a movie night showing Pulp Fiction.

The event started at 18:00, where you were able to enjoy dinner before the film started at 20:00.

Pulp Fiction is about the lives of two mob hit men, a gangster’s wife, a boxer and a pair of bandits. The night included a themed cocktail, an enjoyable atmosphere for a perfect film night.

So watch out for the next movie night they are worth going too, because how often do you get to watch a film in the Hard Rock !

Fashion Revolution Day

Fashion Revolution Day

Happy Fashion Revolution Day Everyone !

On Saturday 23rd April Arforetro held an event at Pop Brixton.

At the event there was ethical markets, fashion work shops and a clothes swapping party. There was over 17 independent ethical fashion brands that supplied a mixture of fashion, accessories and jewellery.

Fashion Revolution Day is about understanding where are clothes come, and who has made them. There are small things that we can do to change either by supporting small business, creating and fixing your own clothes, buy vintage or charity shopping.

Also donate clothing rather than throwing them away !

Ask the question ‘Who Made My Clothes ?’

Pop Brixton

The Sunshine International Arts is a leading artistic, education and production carnival company. They also run an arts community in Loughborough and opened a Pop Brixton called C.A.F.E (Carnival Arts For Everyone). This is where in the Summer Carnival season they serve both teaching and workspace for making of the costumes.

Their Pop Brixton shop is to showcase their work; they also sell art from the ‘Mulana: Art of the People’ this is an Indian charity based company, and the products are all hand embroidered with all the proceeds going back to them.

Yelp produced a secret Brixton trail where whenever you checked in to places you were able to use their promotions. Certain shops with the secret Brixton were giving out free samples of products, or giving out food and drinks.

Pop Brixton is a great place to spend a sunny weekend afternoon, there are lots of great places to eat, drink and shop.

Kate Spade Sweet Suit

Kate Spade Sweet Suit

On Friday 22nd at 2pm on Regents Street, Kate Spade welcomed the public into the sweet suit, which is an edible art installation by Jennifer Rubell.

The new Kate Spade bag designs are a must have, they are so quirky and amazing for summer. I had many favourites, however these were my absolute especially the tea and peanuts bag. The layout and style of the shop is fun and interactive, which matched the energy and design of the display.

The event included free Champaign, and with every purchase a free key ring. There was a chance to get involved with the installation, and to win either a dessert or handbag.

ColourBlock Party

ColourBlock Party

The event last night was a party to celebrate British designer Morag Myerscough, who has recently created a series of colourways for cranes, that will be used in the ongoing construction around Greenwich Peninsula.

They had the most amazing styled cocktail drink I have ever seen, and it didn’t stop there boozy marshmallows were available that tasted incredible. Along with an inhalable punch that tasted like liquorice by The Robin Collective.

Their was a talk by Morag Myerscough, live art from two different artists Jennifer Talyor and Martina Schmuecker, and in the cinema room a film by Gareth Evans.

The Now Later created a fantastic and interesting night with DJ Bip Ling playing the end of a perfect event.

Years & Years

Years & Years

Years & Years held a concert on Friday 8th April at SSE Arena Wembley. The opening acts for the night were MO, Nimmo and Mabel. I hadn’t heard of Nimmo and Mabel before, but they are worth researching and listening to. My favourite was MO, who was the featuring artist in the Major Lazer Song ‘Lean On’ with DJ Snake.

Years & Years were fantastic to watch live, playing new songs and singing their own version of ‘Dark Horses’ by Katy Perry and ‘Hotline Bling’ by Drake. Towards the end of their set they created a collaboration with MO singing ‘That boy is mine’ by Brandy and Monica.

The style of the show was bold and colourful, for this coming summer the style is wearing bright and colourful mixture of clothing.
