That dreaded question haunts your whole entire university experience! With everyone and I mean everyone is asking you what are your plans after uni, what are you hoping to achieve, have you got a job lined up?
These are the questions that become more prominent as you come to the end of your degree, most of the time you want to respond crying and saying help me! Or just start walking away every time someone asks that question! That’s right just abruptly start walking away in a different direction preferably towards a bar! But like most I’m sure, I have the generic answer of ‘I’m not really sure at the moment but I am just going with the flow’ Which is my hidden answer of saying I have no clue.
But to be honest, this is the first time in my life where I don’t have a plan, I worked hard through school in hopes to get into college, then worked hard there in hopes to get into university, and then worked hard to get my degree! I know that it was all towards to get a job but I have no clue what I want to do for the rest of my life and it’s hard to set goals when you just so unsure. To be honest, this freaked me out, I like to plan, I like to know where I’m going.
I recently watched the commencement speech by Will Ferrell who stated that ‘I was trying to throw as many darts at the dartboard hoping one would eventually stick’ which clicked with me that its ok not to know as long as your trying. Personally, I know my career is in fashion because that is what I love and I love everything that inspires fashion whether its music, art, movies, books etc. But for the first time, I am content at not knowing and I am going to go with the flow.
I started blogging as a form of a university project and had no idea what to a) write about or b) couldn’t decide on a subject matter. For a few years, I have tested and trailed out certain things to fit into a category.
But I have finally realised that I don’t need to fit into a particular subject matter, so I have decided to make my blog a place of laughter, fun and involve my own experiences. I want to make my posts about things I’m passionate about and create conversation. It will involve fashion, art, current issues and generally be my point of view which is awesome but I also want to inform and create a place that I can voice my finds.
And plus the fact I accidentally paid for another year’s subscription.
I know I haven’t been updating my blog much this past year and can only apologise. This year has been completely crazy as I have been completing my degree in fashion promotion.
Throughout this year I have been working on a project called Acute. Acute is a bespoke, knowledgeable, trusted, skincare brand that specialises in providing product choice for individuals, who feel they’re not represented in the skincare market. Acute is a company that would categorizes products by skin types such as sensitive, oily, dry, eczema, combination and many other different skin types. It seeks to find products that work and provide more natural organic products to their consumers. One of my aims was to create this company to be as sustainable as it can be. I have presented my idea and designs at Transitions 2.0, Graduate Fashion Week and the Ravensbourne Degree Show. I also had the AMAZING Opportunity to meet CLARE WAIGHT KELLER who is THE Artistic Director Of GIVENCHY !
Heres a little look at the what I’ve been up too.
Stripes are in this summer and with a range of designers and high street styles, there is more than a range to choose from to make you feel on point.
The featured image only show a few of the different types of styles but there is a raising amount, with of the shoulder shirts, and ruffles making a comeback and pinstripes heading out of the wardrobes. Take into consideration that this is a timeless trend and stripes look good at any moment. With the hot weather and it being the holiday season, it’s a great time to indulge or dig out your striped gems. You can either introduce this trend subtly, go crazy with strips or do both!
Items can be stylish jumpsuits, shorts, tops, swimwear, shoes, beachwear, and accessories. Here are a few of my favorites pieces.
For the go crazy stripes:
Playful Striped Jumpsuit By NewLook
Classic Comme Des Garcons Top
Stripe Stripe Shorts H&M
Subtle but introduced stripes:
Large Tasteful Scarf H&M
Elegant Parallel Lines Dress Pinstripe
Holiday Wear TKMaxx
PIXEL London is a creative digital platform showcasing the best work of Ravensbourne Fashion Promotion students. The launch was at Somerset House for a one-day exhibition that featured specific work created for the event.
As part of my course, one of the projects was to come up with a promotional campaign that will raise the profile and increase sales for the international brand. I had to identify with the brand, understand the greater market in which it is operating, its current performance against competitors and the kind of campaign that would be a worthwhile investment.
Through countless marketing research towards the brand, I come up with concepts that would benefit the brand, along with a group project that involved making a 360 campaign.

JuiceBox Girls Summer Issue.
I acted as editor of JuiceBox magazine and contributed to this issues by writing, researching and contacting female authors, editing articles and features. Acting as creative direction on editorial shoots, helped plan and design the magazine along with producing and influencing the graphics. I created promotional material for JuiceBox by creating launch party posters, postcards and a mock-up of a website.
